OUTFITS FOR NEW BATTLES
Unique pieces refer to attires of past times.
The works are constructed from modules of abrasive sponges for washing dishes. Arranged in a variety of ways, the sponges are sewn together with garden wire and cemented in place. The overlapping of the material and its flexible quality, enhances the relief of the costumes.
The dresses come from different sources (Mapuche, Aztec, Japanese and Ottomano), their titles are humorous and fresh, as are the colors and combinations. “Ottomano quiere ser fashion”, “Huaso llegó a Miami”, “Traje de expansión”, “Samurai vio a un puma”, “La niña horrible está chocha” and “Geisha viste a militar”; in almost all of them, purple predominates, mixed with intense yellows, sienna colors and strident green appear. Their combinations of colors, stitching and patterns, make up these costumes that have a mixed and ancestral image, are waiting for us to dress for possible new battles.
